Welcome

We hope the following information will help you to feel welcome and help smooth your first introduction to
Ampthill Baptist Church.

Who are we?  Ampthill Baptist Church comprises a wide range of different people, from all ages and different backgrounds. Whoever you are you are assured of a very warm welcome at 'ABC'.

When should I arrive?  Our main meeting is Sunday Morning at 10.45am.   If it's your first visit then it's probably best to turn up around 10.30am. For directions please see the CONTACT US page.   You'll be greeted on the door by our welcoming team who help you feel at home.

Where should I park? Car parking in Ampthill is limited, so we recommend that you walk or cycle to the church if possible.  If you do need to get here by car, then during evenings and weekends you can use the Aragon Housing Association car park.  Opposite the Old Sun Pub turn into Chandos Road then turn first right and first right again.  You can walk down the side of the Housing Association building to take you back onto Dunstable Street.

What should I wear?  This is easy. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We are an informal church and accept people as they are.  Whether you come as a suited businessman or a freaked-out punk that is fine with us.

What should I expect?  For some people going anywhere for the first time can be a bit daunting.  Here's a quick summary of what you can expect at ABC.

First of all we aren't super-spiritual beings; we all had a 'first day' at church, and we are a friendly bunch.  If you don't understand something please ask.  We usually start our meeting at 10.45am with a few notices.   Our worship time includes modern songs and traditional hymns.
(led by a worship band)  There is usually a special talk for the children before they leave for
their own groups in 'Lighthouse'.

We have a talk from the Bible that is relevant and meaningful to our modern lives and finish our meeting around midday, with tea and coffee.  Our aim is that whether you are just looking into Christianity for the first time, or have been a Christian for many years, you will be encouraged and inspired by the morning.

You will also be welcome at any of our other services or events. for details see our CHURCH DIARY

 Discovering Christianity?

If you are just looking into Christianity you are welcome to come along to any of our meetings, but you may also prefer to join an Alpha group. Alpha is a great way to find out more about God and the claims of Christianity. No question is too stupid and you'll find other people also exploring Christianity  for the first time.  click the logo to find out more about our ALPHA COURSE

For those with disabilities:

We aim to be an all-inclusive church.  Our premises are accessible for those with disabilities and disabled toilets are available.  We have a loop system for the hearing impaired.
