Volunteering Opportunities

Within the church we need people to help out in various areas. Below are the list of areas that currently require extra people to help things run smoothly.
If you can offer your service in any of the following areas, please contact the Church Administrator and she will put you in contact with the right person.
*NEW* Children & Young People's section of ABC Library
This has now been moved to the upper room to make it more accessible to the children and young people. It would benefit from someone taking on looking after this section and keeping it up to date with new materials from our Library Budget. It will not need lots of time but an enthusiasm for books/CD/DVDs and and idea of what is relevant to the various age groups. If you are interested please speak to Liz Coulson.
*NEW* Transport
The Pastoral Care Group and others help with transport to and from church on Sunday mornings. Another way we can help in transport is by taking people to medical appointments. Sometimes this can just mean a Doctor locally but sometimes it can mean offering transport to a hospital that is quite a journey away. If could join the team offering transport when they can, please contact Barbara Farn.
*NEW* Vision for Mission
ABC is committed to supporting a number of mission partnerships on a long-term basis. The Vision for Mission team has the job of bringing the Church's task of worldwide mission to the fellowship; and of highlighting the needs and challenges of our mission partners, so that we can all fulfil out calling as 'senders' by prayer and giving. If you would like to join the team, please contact Sally Metianu.
Welcome Team
If you can greet people and make them feel welcome, are happy to show people where things are at ABC, and willing to help clear away the Bibles and tidy around after the service– then why not join the Welcome Team? The Team also take up the offering, hand out leaflets at the door, and help when problems arise– such as someone feeling poorly. The Team are led each week by a Deacon and you would need to be able to arrive at the Church for 10am in the mornings or about 6.10pm for the evening service. If you are interested, please speak to Liz Coulson.
Small Group Leaders and Hosts
Would you be able to lead or host a small group? To give everyone the best opportunity to be in a small group we need more Group Leaders and Hosts.
Group Leaders are given training and support so you will not be left on your own, and lots of material is available to chose from and use, including, DVDs, CDs and study books. Hosts help Leaders by opening up their home for the Group to meet in, welcoming and providing tea/coffee. If you would like to host a small group, please speak to Ken Argent
Sunday Morning Tea and Coffee Team
Required to help prepare, serve and clear away the tea and coffee after the morning service. You will be with three or four other people and your turn will come around approximately once every two months. If you are interested in joining the rota, please speak to Monica Simpson
Church Maintenance Team
Required on Saturday mornings once a month, we need people to help with the maintenance of the church buildings and garden. All skill levels are catered for and all tools are provided. Mick Bradley is the person to speak to if you are interested in joining the team.
Church Youth: Friday Club & Cornerstone
Required on Friday nights weekly, we need people to help with the running of the two youth clubs of the church. Martin Cockerill is the person to speak to if you are interested in joining the team.
