Big Questions

 What is Big Questions?

Big Questions is an opportunity to look at some of life’s big questions as we explore them together at Costa Coffee in Ampthill. Everyone who comes gets a free drink and cake to enjoy while listening to a talk where one of these big questions are unpacked, then there’s plenty of time to chat with those on your table and share your views.

Topics include:

  • God: does He exist?

  • Science and faith: what can we trust?

  • Suffering and evil: where is God in a broken world?

  • Fake news: is Christianity a fairy tale?

  • Life and death: are we made for more?

Who is it for?

Big questions is open to anyone of any age. There’s no need to sign up, no follow up and no charge. You’re welcome to come along by yourself or with a friend.

You don’t have to come for all four sessions, you can just come to the ones you’re able to or most interested in. We do find that the topics link together, so if you’re able to, let us encourage you to come to all four.

What you can expect at Big Questions:

Welcome

As you enter, we’ll give each person a voucher that they can redeem at the counter for any drink and any cake for free! Order what you like and find yourself a table to enjoy your refreshments. You can get to know those around you, or keep yourself to yourself if you want!

Talk

We’ll then listen to a talk from our speaker that evening, who’ll explore the topic. It’s usually around 20 minutes and gives plenty of food for thought.

Discussion

After the talk there’s plenty of time to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and discuss it with those you came with or others on your table. There's no obligation to say anything and there's nothing you can't say (seriously!). It's an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
