Alpha
What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, run over 6 weeks which is open to everyone. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to create conversation. Like most things we do at Ampthill Baptist Church, it’s very relaxed and there’s lots of space for chat! There is no cost for Alpha - even when we eat together it’s completely free of charge!

Who is it for?
Alpha is for everyone! We don’t assume any background knowledge of, or belief in, Christianity and everyone is welcome. No question is out of bounds and you are free to discuss as much or as little as you wish.
You don’t have to come for the whole course – why not try the first session and see what you think. No pressure, no follow up and no charge!
What you can expect at Alpha:
Welcome
We meet in person and our Alpha course starts each week with us sharing a pudding or cake and a hot drink together. We enjoy the delicious treats and get to know each other in a relaxed environment. For Alpha Online, there’s always a warm welcome but you’ll have to prepare your own snacks!
Talk
We’ll watch a video together that explores the topics of life, faith and meaning. Take a quick look at what the videos are like:
Discussion
After the video there’s plenty of time to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and discuss it in your small group. There's no obligation to say anything and there's nothing you can't say (seriously!). It's an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment.
