Give

  • Standing Order

This is the best way to support us as it enables us to budget and plan with more certainty. You can setup a standing order directly via online banking, or by visiting your bank - see our details below. Alternatively, we have forms available at the church entrance.

    Sort Code: 08-92-99
    Account No: 67281118

  • One-Off Donation

You can also give to ABC online if you’re making a one-off donation. Regular giving is best through a standing order.

  • Gift Aid

If you pay tax, we can claim an extra 25% for everything you donate to us from the Government. It’s very simple - just fill in the form below.

  • Other Ways to Give

You can also give via payroll giving (GAYE) and cheques made out to Ampthill Baptist Church. You may also want to consider legacy giving (see below). To discuss any options contact our treasurer.

Why should I give?

First up, there’s never any obligation for financial contribution when you attend our church. Jesus never demanded payment when spending time with people!

ABC believes the Bible teaches that giving should be part of the Christian life. Many people use as a guideline the idea of a tithe (one tenth) of your income as giving, some of which could be to the church, but equally could be to other causes you feel led to support. This is based on the verses in Deuteronomy 12.

We give to sow and invest

ABC is fully funded by the generous donations of those who attend. We are committed to making Jesus known, and believe that by investing abundantly in our local Church that we can grow our mission together and see a transformational impact on our community.

Whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. - 2 Corinthians 9:6-7

We give because we love

Giving gifts to those close to us is an expression of our love for them. It is the same for God – when we recognise how much He loves us this motivates us to express our love in many ways, including financially supporting the Church, growing our commitment to the work we do together.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. - Matthew 6:21

Thankful.png

We give because we are thankful

When we recall what He has done for us and the price He paid, our gratitude flows into supporting the Church.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. - John 3:16

Merciful.png

We give in order to be merciful

ABC gives a significant proportion of its annual income to our mission partners around the world. When we give in response to natural disasters and to work against poverty, we are acting with mercy. Your giving also enables us to also work closer to home when real needs surface, showing love and mercy to those in our community.

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. - Hebrews 13:16

What steps can I take now?

Pray

In the light of Scripture seek what God is asking you to do with the financial resources you are blessed with.

Review your giving

If you give regularly please be encouraged to review the amount on an annual basis. Over time inflation erodes the real value of our income so when you receive a raise in your income please consider increasing the amount of your gift.

Gift Aid your gifts

If you are a UK tax-payer, please consider completing a Gift Aid Declaration. This costs you nothing but allows the church to make a claim to the government to recover an amount equivalent to the tax paid on the gift.

Leave a legacy

Please consider leaving a gift to ABC in your will.
