Community Support

Lockdown has been tough for many.

If you are struggling and in need at the moment, as a local church we are able to offer practical support, friendship and a listening ear. This page can also point you towards other sources of help. If you’re ready to attend our gatherings - for seniors, youth, Sunday services and more – we will also be able to offer a welcome and hospitality in a very real way.

Food

Whilst we can’t help you directly with food at the moment, there are organisations that can help.

The Need Project

The Need Project believe that everyone has the right to have food on their plate, dignity, skills, a chance to work and hope for the future.

Foodbank

Foodbank don’t believe anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. They can provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

Finance

In times of hardship, finances can be one of the biggest stresses and strains on a person or families.

Citizens Advice

Citizens Advice can give people the knowledge and confidence they need to find their way forward - whoever they are, and whatever their problem.

The CAP Money Course

The Cap Money Course is a free course that will teach you budgeting skills and a simple, cash-based system that works. In just a few weeks, you will get to grips with your finances so you can budget, save and prevent debt.

Central Bedfordshire Council

Central Bedfordshire Council have access to many areas of support, one of which is financial. On their website, use the search bar to find what you are looking for.

It is obviously not possible to list all the helplines, advice and support groups available. We have therefore created a list of organisations that offer support in various situations. If you are struggling and don’t know where to turn, please don’t struggle alone, get in touch and we will do all we can to help you.
