Who we are?

The climate crisis and environmental pollution is having a devastating impact on ecosystems and biodiversity across the globe, but it’s also hitting the world’s poorest the hardest, destroying their communities and livelihoods. Just look at the recent floods in Pakistan or famine in Madagascar. We believe responding to this is part of God’s call on us to be stewards of his creation and to act in times of injustice.

The ABC Climate and Environment Group aim to help ABC respond to the climate crisis and environmental issues, equipping us to be stewards of God’s creation in our local church through our worship, buildings, land, community engagement, and individual lifestyles. All our actions, large or small, have an impact on the planet.

Coming Up

Every few weeks there will be an update from us in The Way. This will be a short piece to give you something to reflect on and pray for considering environmental issues and how we can respond in our lives. It will also suggest additional resources and upcoming local events to get involved with. We’ll also have a noticeboard at the end of the church corridor with this information.

Keep an eye out for an update soon where we’ll be starting some work getting the church garden ready for Spring!
