Joining us for a Sunday Service?

Who are we?

Ampthill Baptist Church comprises a wide range of different people, from all ages and different backgrounds. Whoever you are you are assured of a very warm welcome at 'ABC'.

What should I wear?

This is easy. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We are an informal church and accept people as they are. Whether you come along wearing a suit or your jeans makes no difference, it's fine with us.

When should I arrive?

Our Sunday Morning Service starts at 10:45am. If it's your first visit then it's probably best to turn up around 10:30am.

The Six Thirty has refreshments available before the service from when the doors open at 6:00pm.

You'll be greeted on the door by our welcoming team who help you feel at home.

What should I expect?

For some people going anywhere for the first time can be a bit daunting. Here's a quick summary of what you can expect at ABC.

First of all we aren't super-spiritual beings; we all had a 'first day' at church, and we are a friendly bunch. If you don't understand something please ask. We usually start our meeting at 10:45am with a few notices. Our worship time includes modern songs and traditional hymns, led by a worship band. There is usually a special talk for the children before they leave for their own groups in 'Lighthouse'.

We have a sermon from the Bible that is relevant and meaningful to our modern lives and finish our meeting around midday, with tea and coffee. Our aim is that whether you are just looking into Christianity for the first time, or have been a Christian for many years, you will be encouraged and inspired by the morning.

Where should I park?

Car parking in Ampthill is limited, so we recommend that you walk or cycle to the church if possible. If you do need to get here by car, then during evenings and weekends you can use the Aragon Housing Association car park. Opposite the Old Sun Pub turn into Chandos Road then turn first right and first right again. You can walk down the side of the Housing Association building to take you back onto Dunstable Street.

For those with disabilities?

We aim to be an all-inclusive church. Our premises are accessible for those with disabilities and disabled toilets are available. We have a loop system for the hearing impaired. We are registered sight-loss friendly church.

We believe...

That Jesus came to give life in all its fullness (John 10:10) and we want to see people grow in their personal faith and to use the gifts and talents that they’ve been given so that they can love and serve God; whether that’s in our local community or further afield.

We believe that being a Christian is more than just going to church on Sundays, it’s a personal commitment to Jesus that has the power to transform every aspect of your life. Come along and discover how.

Whatever your background; whether you’ve been a Christian many years or would just like to know a little bit more about God, you’ll find a warm welcome at Ampthill Baptist Church.

We hope to see you soon!
